National Gallery in Prague 2008
Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Austrian designers were the actors of Design match biennale. The premiere of the Design Match 08 took place at home ground in the National Gallery in Prague.
Design Match 2008 was based on common history and heritage of Austria-Hungary monarchy tradition of production of the countries which have been part of the monarchy. History versus present production, four neighboring countries presented their design in this international match. Mission of the Design Match was to show design work to wide public, to multiply related activities. Design Match had supported the mobility of design and applied arts. Design Match was an exhibition that defines and reflects its needs. It was the only non-commercial show of design that had an ambition of long continuation and to place the Czech design next to its foreign colleagues. This exhibition gathered different countries who have historical connections, traditions and heritage.
