AGIP CHAIR 

The chair was created as part of the Design Battle 2025, a format by Creative Industries Styria. It is a playful competition in which designers are paired with carpenters from Tischlerei Prödl and compete against each other for one day. In the final, the Agip Chair was selected by the jury as the winning project. The concept is simple: the profile of a chair is cut out of solid wood and arranged in a star shape. A two-dimensional drawing is thus transformed into a three-dimensional seating object. What began as an experiment turned out to be surprisingly comfortable. An additional benefit: the chair can also serve as a small coat rack, for example in a bedroom.

Der Stuhl entstand im Zuge der Design Battle 2025, ein Format der Creative Industries Styria. Ein humorvoller Wettbewerb, bei dem Designer:innen mit Tischler:innen der Tischlerei Prödl gepaart werden und einen Tag lang gegeneinander antreten. Zum Finale des Wettbewerbs wurde der Agip Chair von der Jury als Siegerprojekt ausgewählt. Die Idee ist einfach: Das Profil eines Stuhles wird aus Massivholz ausgeschnitten und sternförmig angeordnet. Eine zweidimensionale Zeichnung wird so zu einem dreidimensionalen Sitzobjekt. Was als Experiment begann, erwies sich überraschend bequem. Ein angenehmer Sideeffekt: Der Stuhl eignet sich ebenso gut als kleiner Garderobenständer, z. B. in einem Schlafzimmer.
